David M. Ferguson, PhD, MD, FACCP

Dr. Ferguson has worked since 1968 in various aspects of pharmaceutical development. He has been a bench pharmacologist, toxicologist, teacher, consultant, medical director of several Phase I clinical research units, medical director of a research outpatient clinic, a Principal Investigator on numerous studies, and has held high level executive positions within the pharmaceutical industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Northwestern University, a Masters in Pharmacology from The University of Michigan, a Ph.D. from The University of Health Sciences: The Chicago Medical School, and a Medical Degree from University of Illinois in Chicago.

Dr. Ferguson has also been a consultant to the World Health Organization with a focus on erectile dysfunction, and was the Chairman and Founder of the 1st International Advisory Workshop on Clinical Trials in Female Sexual Dysfunction, and a member of the 1st International Consensus Conference on Female Dysfunction.

He has authored more than 400 study reports submitted to the FDA and had a key role in the filing of seventeen successful New Drug Applications and numerous INDs covering indications for angina, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel syndrome, urinary incontinence, male erectile dysfunction, and female sexual dysfunction.

Dr. Ferguson currently is an independent consultant to pharmaceutical companies.
