HOW TO DO A PUBMED SEARCH FOR MEDICAL AND FSD INFORMATION

PubMed is a free service from the National Library of Medicine, providing medical information dating back to the mid-1960’s to the present.

There is a tutorial located on the left side of the PubMed homepage. This step-by-step
tutorial can help you research medical and FSD information.

TIPS FROM PUBMED USERS

  • Start search with varied terms based on the topic you are interested in. For example, if you are interested in the topic low desire, try the following search words, “ Desire, low libido, FSD, Female Sexual Dysfunction.”

  • After you have read the articles from your search, you may have learned new terminology. Consider doing a second search using the new terminology, words or phrases.

  • PubMed may provide the full-text article, abstract, or only the citation. Reviewing the full-text article will provide the most information.

  • Do not become discouraged if you notice there is a difference of opinion within the medical community on the topic that you are interested in.
